Specials

What is a “special”? As defined by the CTDs, a special is an individual achievement deserving of a monetary reward from the Top Gun field. Specials are announced and collected at dinner or immediately following the final round of the tournament. Specials are to be paid with one-dollar bills.


Special Defintion Payout
Polie A putt holed from the putting surface where the length of the putt exceeds the length of the flag-stick on that hole. $1
Hole Out A shot holed from off the putting surface using any club. $1
Sandie A natural score of par or better on any hole after hitting a shot from a sand trap on the same hole. $1
KP Awarded to the player whose ball comes to rest on the green and closest to the hole after the player's tee shot on a par 3 hole. $1
Birdie A natural score of one less than par on any hole. $1
Eagle A natural score of two less than par on a par 4 or par 5 hole. $5
Hole-in-One A natural score of one on any hole. $10
Beat the Field A net score of birdie or better on a hole deemed a “beat the field” hole by the CTDs prior to the round. $1
First to pay As deemed by the CTDs, the first player to pay his tournament fee to the Ancient One. This is a non-playing special. $1
